ARMBRUESTER CLOSES IN ON LET CARD AFTER BREAKTHROUGH LETAS SEASON

Natalie Armbruester is on the verge of securing her LET card for next season after a record-breaking four runners-up finishes on the LET Access Series (LETAS) in 2026.

The Swiss golfer, 26, is still chasing her first professional victory but sits comfortably in second position on the LETAS Order of Merit (OOM) standings.

“There’s a few stories out there where it’s taken people a few times to actually win,” Armbruester said. “Even if I don’t win this season, it’s still been a good season. I don’t think I’m going to measure my success on whether I’ve won or not. I think I’ve done a lot of things well.

“It is difficult to play three rounds well and the competition is so strong. I think every year the competition on the Access Series has been getting better. You can also see that on the scores.

“I don’t think it’s because I’ve made a lot of mistakes that I haven’t been able to win. I just think it’s tough to win a tournament and hopefully, I can still manage this the season, but we’ll see what happens.”

Across 15 LETAS events in 2026, Armbruester has four second-place finishes, one third-place finish and two more Top 10 results while missing only two cuts.

With three events to play, Armbruester has 734.75-point cushion over eighth-placed Michaela Vavrova and can secure her LET card with a victory at this week’s October 20-22 Super Bock Ladies Open in Vidago, Portugal.

“I think my game is in a good spot,” she said. “I missed the cut last week, so it gave me an opportunity to work on my game on that third day while the others were playing.

“I think I’ve been quite consistent, which I think has helped with the points and also just staying in groove and feeling comfortable with my game.

“I played well here last year so I know the course well, and I’m hoping that will help for this week. I have a new caddy, my boyfriend’s here with me this week for the first time this season, so hopefully we’ll be a good team.”

During her rookie season in 2024 on the LETAS, Armbruester finished in 85th position on the OOM before improving to 34th position last year.

She credited her upturn in form this season to working on specific areas of her game.

“I spent the offseason after Q-School last year working on my driver,” she said. “Rhat was a big weakness of mine the last couple of seasons. I think that has really helped this year, that I’ve just been more consistent off the tee.

“It’s allowed me to create more birdies because I have more opportunities for the approach shots. I changed putters, which was really helpful. I feel like I’m holing more putts this season and overall I’m just happy with the season

“In some key moments, when I really needed to make the birdies, I made birdies. Moments perhaps when I didn’t feel so comfortable with my game, I was able to work around it and just be quite consistent this year.

“I think I’ve worked hard on my game and really made sure that I develop each season and work on my strengths and my weaknesses. I’m hoping that the season will end well for me, and hopefully next year I can play on the LET.

“It would be a big dream of mine. I graduated college and I wasn’t quite sure how it would be to play professionally. But I really enjoyed it. It would be just a big dream to finally play on the the best Tour in Europe and compete against the best.”
