In 2024, Natacha Host Husted finished inside the top seven of the LET Access Series (LETAS) Order of Merit and was at the peak of her career.
The Danish golfer, 25, earned full status on the LET for the 2025 season but struggled to reproduce her form from the year before and did not retain her card for 2026.
Now, Host Husted is back on the LETAS and competing in her sixth event of the season at the CSK Steel Women’s Open.
“Obviously, I wanted to stay on LET,” she said. “That’s been the goal. But I think coming back here has been really good for my perspective on golf and just being able to see the bigger picture and come back to just enjoying golf again.
“So I think that’s been important for me to actually take that step back. As of right now, I’m not really sure how I feel about golf right now. The most important thing for me is not what’s going to happen in the future, like playing wise or like whatever category I can get.
“It’s more just coming back to enjoying the game and making sure that I don’t start hating golf. So I just really want to enjoy myself and make sure that I prioritise the right things and support my own mental health.
“And all that stuff outside of the golf course as well is probably what’s most important to me right now. So that’s that’s going to be my main focus, and then whatever happens happens.”
Host Husted has not played a competitive event since June’s Ladies German Challenge, a decision she made to take care of her personal well-being.
“Honestly, I needed a break after Germany,” she revealed. “I think I just needed to kreflect on everything and figure out what I’m doing, why I’m doing what I’m doing, and think about if I needed to change something going forward.
“If golf is even what I want to do and all that. Sometimes you have to reflect in those things. So honestly, I just enjoyed the summer, the Danish summer. I got to be home at a certain point in the year that I don’t usually get to be home.
“I was just kind of enjoying myself, like being with family, friends, and honestly, reading a lot of books and just enjoying the summer.”
She is making her return on home soil in Denmark, coming into the tournament with a fresh perspective.
“Playing at home first of all, I’m out here to have fun and just enjoy myself,” she said. “See what that brings for my game, and if that changes anything for me. So I think that’s kind of the most important thing for me.”
Host Husted is well aware of her abilities, having clinched her maiden professional win at the PGA Championship Gothenburg in 2024.
“That was a great experience,” she said. “I feel like I had a little bit of a rough patch, coming into that event a few years ago. So I was not really believing in myself a whole lot, and then just you know, golf happens, and you play some really really good golf in some tough conditions and you’re standing there on top.
“So I feel like that’s just kind of how golf is at that point. You just never really know what kind of week you’re gonna have.”
For now, she is just focused on enjoying herself.
She added: “I’m really happy to be able to to get to play in Denmark. My family, my friends, and everyone is here to kind of like support us.
“Playing at home is always the best. The crowds are nice, and everyone is nice and happy, and everyone is here, so it’s usually really fun.”
