Lauren Holmey has been the definition of consistency with eight top-10 finishes from 13 tournament starts during the 2026 LET Access Series (LETAS) season.
Deservedly so, the Frenchwoman has a commanding lead atop the LETAS Order of Merit (OOM) standings with just five events to play.
“I feel like the points have been a consequence of the good golf so far,” she said. “It’s definitely comfortable to be on top of the rankings. But I don’t really think about it.
“I’ll probably just think about it after the last event and be happy about how it went. But right now, I feel like I still have work to do the last five events. But yeah, it’s definitely comfortable, and I look forward to the next five for sure.”
At this week’s October 8-10 Terre Blanche Ladies Open in Tourrettes, France, Holmey will be chasing her second victory of 2026 on home soil after winning the Montauban Ladies Open in June.
“It’s definitely so hard to win in professional sports and especially in golf,” she said. “I think to just to knock on that door multiple times a season, I think that’s something that we look forward to and work towards every year.
“I’ve had a lot of fun on the course this year. I’ve had my mom on the bag, I’ve had my dad on the bag. I’ve had good results with both of them. I think my driving has improved a lot, my putting has been good.
“There’s still room for improvement when it comes to approaches but I think overall it’s just on the right track and I feel like I just have to keep doing what I’ve been doing and keep improving wherever I can improve.”
During her rookie season in 2022, Holmey finished fifth in the OOM and was promoted to the LET. But she suffered with an unexpected illness the following year which cut short her stint on Europe’s biggest stage.
With more than a 1,000-point cushion over eighth position in the OOM, Holmey is within touching distance of securing her return to the LET in 2027.
“It feels like ages ago, but just like yesterday as well,” she said. “I think a lot has happened the last three years, and it’s taken a lot of work and a lot of changes to get back to where I am at the moment.
“I think medically has made the most difference. And it’s just great to be able to just focus on the golf and not on anything else that’s happening outside of it. It’s just me, my game, and I’m just having a lot of fun on the course every day.
“In 2022, there were so many things that I wasn’t aware of within my own body when it comes to what professional golf asks of you. I feel like back on LET next year I’ll be a lot more prepared.
“Even though it was a tough experience three years ago, I’m definitely grateful for the experiences I’ve had. I’ll know what to expect to a certain extent, so I’m just really looking forward to seeing how things unfold next year.”
Before that though, she has five tournaments remaining to cap off a perfect year. Holmey currently has 1,994.14 points, more than 300 points clear of Sweden’s Moa Svedenskiold on 1,673.25 points.
“I would like to win the Order of Merit,” Holmey added. “That would be a very nice cherry on top. I’ve been leading most of the year, so I just feel like it would be a nice way to round things up in Spain at the end of the year.
“If I can get another win under my belt before that, that would be awesome. But just keep playing the golf I’ve been playing, and then, like I said earlier, the points and the victories are usually consequences. So hopefully, it’ll be a happy consequence.”
Holmey will begin Round 1 of the Terre Blanche Ladies Open from the 10th tee at 12.52pm (local time) alongside United States’ Katherine Schuster and Spain’s Elena Melich Sanchez.
