Bad weather during the 2025 edition of the Allegria Stegersbach Ladies Open meant Michaela Vavrova had to play through a gruelling 30 holes on the final day.
Yet the Slovak still managed to finish in a tie for third place, her second-best result at a LETAS event.
`I was actually really tired on the last day playing that many holes and waking up so early,` she said. `I was happy with that performance and very happy that bad weather didn’t affect my game.
`I would almost say the opposite, it helped me and helped me focus more on what I wanted to see on the course. I didn’t really buy into negativity. I was pretty proud of myself.”
This year, Vavrova started her golf season in South Africa, competing in four events on the Sunshine Ladies Tour before recording a top-10 finish at the LETAS season-opener in Fez.
`Heading into the LETAS opener, I felt a little bit more ready than last year for tournaments already,” she added.
`Hopefully, I can keep this level of play throughout the season and secure some more top-10 and top-5 finishes and hopefully win as well.”
The 25-year-old, who was introduced to golf at the age of 10 by her grandfather Dušan, has had an eventful break back home in Bratislava.
Vavrova said: `I was practicing a lot with my coaches and we had some tournaments, some scrambles. I was playing different courses in Slovakia which helped me to work on different parts of my game.
`It was actually really great to be home for this much time and to be in the gym a little bit more. I feel good about my game, I’m excited to compete again. It’s been a long month but enjoyable.”
